IZ是夏威夷音樂(lè)里赫赫有名的歌唱家，擅長(zhǎng)演唱和彈奏夏威夷四弦琴，全名Israel Kamakawiwo'ole。由于名字實(shí)在太長(zhǎng)，所以歌迷們都昵稱(chēng)他為IZ。他別具匠心地把Somewhere Over The Rainbow和What A Wonderful World這兩支曲子串在一起用當(dāng)?shù)貥?lè)器演繹。在純美的音樂(lè)后面，正是他深深而脈脈涌動(dòng)的溫情。
IZ開(kāi)始推出他自己的個(gè)人專(zhuān)輯是89年，KAANOI是他第一張個(gè)人專(zhuān)輯，此后93年的FACING FUTURE的成功讓世界開(kāi)始注意IZ，而95年的E ALA E和96年的N DIS LIFE則令I(lǐng)Z的名聲傳遍世界。97年的時(shí)候，BILLBOARD雜志的資深樂(lè)評(píng)人Doug Reece驚嘆道：“在97年全年52個(gè)星期的世界音樂(lè)榜上，只有7個(gè)星期沒(méi)有出現(xiàn)Israel Kamakawo'ole的名字！”
然而，非常遺憾的是，輝煌的97年并沒(méi)能讓世界留住IZ。他的肥胖終于讓他在97年6月離開(kāi)了人世，年僅38歲的他去世時(shí)體重超過(guò)750磅。
